I UNDERSTAND that the West End Road, Haydock bypass (sometimes referred to as the Blackbrook bypass) had been built principally for the benefit of people living on and adjacent to West End Road. How ironic, therefore, that these same people will now have to put up with traffic calming (road humps etc) so as to encourage a flow of traffic along the bypass sufficient to justify the £8.4million spent on it. more...
